Mr. Jones was born in Oklahoma City. He moved to Memphis at the ripe old age of eleven when his father became a professor at the University of Memphis. Clay Jones prepped at Christian Brothers High School where he lettered in football and wrestling. Upon graduation he attended the University of Memphis where he earned a Counseling Degree. Coach Jones entered the business world after graduation, but returned to the University of Memphis to obtain his Master’s Degree in teaching. Coach Jones began his coaching career at Christian Brothers High School where he has been an assistant football and wrestling coach. Clay and his wife, Susan, decided to move to Utah for the outdoor lifestyle. They celebrated the birth of their first born, William Clayton Jones, in April of 2005 and the birth of their second, Gabriel Thomas Jones, in February 2007. They settled into their home in Sandy and Mr. Jones worked as a teacher, coach, advisor, and wore many hats during that tenure at Juan Diego CHS, but 10 years later moved to Ogden after Mr. Jones took the job as the BIG Cheese at St. Joe! Mr. Jones and his family love the Ogden community and Saint Joseph!
