We believe that extracurricular clubs & activities are an integral part of the social, psychological and physical development of students — an important avenue for education.

    At our high school art club, we gather to engage in lively discussions about art, meticulously plan exciting art events, and actively contribute to cultivating a thriving art culture on campus. Join us as we collaborate on projects, prepare for The Annual St. Joe Art Competition, and celebrate the boundless world of creativity together. Let your passion for art flourish in a supportive and inspiring community!

    Campus Ministry is a group that works to ensure the entire Saint Joseph High School community has access to the sacraments, especially the Mass and Reconciliation, and retreats that are student-led and student-inspired. While Campus Ministry is a course in which students can help for several hours each week, all students are welcome to be in touch with Mrs. Lowder and Mrs. Yates to shape campus ministry.

    The choir performs their own songs and also performs with the band during joint performances. Students learn to sing in varied styles such as Pop, Rock, Jazz, Broadway and Classical among others. There is always the opportunity to sing solos at concerts.

  • Advisor: Jessica Aydlette

    DECA prepares emerging leaders and entrepreneurs in marketing, finance, hospitality and management in high schools and colleges around the globe. The four components of the organization's Comprehensive Learning Program are that DECA integrates into classroom instruction, applies learning, connects to business, and promotes competition. DECA prepares the next generation to be academically prepared, community-oriented, professionally responsible, experienced leaders.

    Long a tradition in the Saint Joseph senior Government classes, Diplomacy is a game of strategy set in early 20th Century Europe. Seven players compete to control supply centers and fend off the attempts of the other players to do the same. Diplomacy was a game played by the Kennedy Administration during the early 1960s and has evolved into a number of new forms now in the 21st.

  • Advisors: Rose Ybaben

    HOPE Squad is a school based “peer to peer” program that partners with local mental health and community agencies. HOPE Squad students are trained to be active listeners so they may help and respond to peers who are struggling with emotional issues such as depression and suicide.

    HOSA is a global student-led organization recognized by the U.S. Department of Education and the Department of Health and Human Services and several federal and state agencies. HOSA’s mission is to empower HOSA-Future Health Professionals to become leaders in the global health community, through education, collaboration, and experience. HOSA actively promotes career opportunities in the health industry and to enhance the delivery of quality health care to all people. HOSA’s goal is to encourage all health science instructors and students to affiliate and be actively involved in the HSE-HOSA Partnership.

    American and International students are welcome to be members of the club. Meetings take place every other week, field trips occuring twice a year. The mission of the International Club is to:

    • Provide opportunities for students to share their culture and traditions with the high school community.

    • Promote cross-cultural interaction between international and American students through numerous activities throughout the year.

  • The National Honor Society (NHS)elevates a school’s commitment to the values of scholarship, service, leadership, and character. These four pillars have been associated with membership in the organization since its inception in 1921. The goal is to excel in academics and community service.

  • Advisor: Alicia Behnken

    New Horizons is a Spanish club with the purpose of expanding outreach to our Hispanic community in Ogden. We also facilitate yearly immersion/mission trips outside of the U.S. Our group is involved in service and works with Operation Christmas Child, Youth Impact, Catholic Community Services, as well as hosting cultural events in hopes of raising awareness to the needs of other cultures and customs.

    Pep Club is responsible for providing a fun and engaging atmosphere at school. We have a variety of committees designed to incorporate a complete experience for the students at our school. Pep Club is a great opportunity for you to get involved, have fun, and make great friends. Go Jayhawks!

    Deepen your mathematical knowledge by solving non-typical math problems, and later entering math competitions.

  • Advisor: Alfonso Tenreiro

    This Band class is for students who already play an instrument. Whether you play a brass instrument, woodwind, violin, cello, guitar, drums, piano, or bass — come join us! You don't need to be proficient in reading music. The styles performed will vary from Jazz to Blues, Rock, Classic Rock, Pop or Reggae depending on instrumentalists available. Among other things you will be taught; to improvise using several scales, emphasizing the Blues and pentatonic scales.

    Ambassadors are the diplomatic corps of our school and function as ministers of hospitality and representatives of Saint Joseph Catholic High School at diocesan, civic, and community events. They are role models for their peers and are expected to maintain the highest values of our school. Ambassadors are required to have excellent communication skills, as they conduct tours, greet and host visitors, and speak to a variety of people. They are poised, professional, and enthusiastic to serve.

    Our award winning Theatre Department performs three productions a year in our Black Box Theatre as well as our amphitheater.

    Our theatre facilities include a full sized Black Box Theatre, sound and lighting boards, costuming department, woodworking shop, and stage production courses.

    Student-directed plays, design opportunities, costuming, sound, lighting, etc. This club is highly regarded on campus and performs in the following:
